ffencoderd was developed to automate video encoding jobs, it just convert a video from one format into another as creating a thumbnail for it. This can be done from any language (Java, PHP, Perl, .Net) that support SOAP, this way you may create a youtube's clone site easily, letting your users send you their videos to be converted to some suitable format.
